BOOKS NEVER EVER SEEN 2010 (Libri Mai Mai Visti)
The cultural association VACA vari cervelli associati (Various Associated Brains)
and the Russi Municipal Administration announce the SIXTEENTH year of
LIBRI MAI MAI VISTI (BOOKS NEVER EVER SEEN),
a competition and exhibition for books that have never been published or presented in public.

GENERAL CONDITIONS
• Participation is free.
• The competition is open to everyone over 16 years of age.
• Individual and collective works are accepted.
• The books may be of any format or size, in any material whatsoever, but must be tough enough to be handled by the public.
• The text, of any length, may be original, already known or by any ancient or modern author.
• The selected works will be exhibited in Russi from December 11, 2010 to January 21, 2011.
• Since it is indispensable that the public should be able to touch, leaf through and handle the works, any books potentially dangerous to visitors – such as those containing glass, mirrors or blades etc. – shall be excluded.
• If the artwork presents a text in a foreign language, the Italian translation must be provided with it.
• Submissions must be accompanied by a duly signed and clearly legible application to take part, indicating: title of the work and description where necessary; name(s) and surname(s) of the participant(s), address, phone number and email if possible. Data will be safeguarded in accordance with the law.

JURY
• The Jury (last year consisting of Francesca Falsetti, Ferruccio Giromini, Cesare Reggiani e Gianni Zauli) will assign the first three prizes. Other prizes and special mentions will be assigned by VACA.

SELECTION
• The organisation will select the works to be shown.
• All participants will receive an invitation to the opening of the exhibition and to the prize-giving. Winners, special mention participants and all those admitted to the exhibition shall be advised in advance.

PRIZES
• prizes shall be in the form of old and/or modern illustrated books.
- 1st prize – equivalent to about € 1.000
- 2nd prize – equivalent to about € 750
- 3rd prize – equivalent to about € 500

- Quality Prize ChicomCultura
- Considerable Amazement Prize
- Arts and Crafts Prize
- Prize for Genius and Appeal
- Alvaro Becattini Prize
- Any ad hoc prizes.

• Works winning prizes, special mention or considered of particular interest may become part of the Fondo Libri mai mai visti collection.
• The organisation declines all liability for any damage to works during setting up and dismantling the exhibition as well as damage due to wear, accident or theft during the period when the exhibition is open to the public, but maximum care and attention will be paid to the works.

DEADLINES
• The works must be sent or delivered to the following address: Fucina VACA, Via Caduti per la libertà, 19 - 48026 RUSSI (RA) - I, between 15th and 30th September 2010.
• After the exhibition the works can be collected, following a phone call (+39 0544 580329), between 1st and 15th February 2010.
• After this deadline the works remaining shall be donated.

• IMPORTANT NOTE! If you want your work returned by post you must say so when you send it, enclosing € 30,00 or paying this sum into Post Office Current Account 33576182, in the name of VACA vari cervelli associati Via XXV Aprile 18, 48026 Russi RA - I, supplying documentation that payment has been made.

• The organisation reserves the right to use the works and their partial or total reproduction for anything that might promote the event. It further reserves the right to take decisions about the event outside the context of this announcement.

• N.B. Participation implies acceptance of the foregoing rules.
